Commencement Forums, a series of academic colloquia by faculty, alumni, and distinguished guests. Detailed listings and locations will be available on the Commencement Web site by early May. |
2 p.m. |
Baccalaureate Procession Formation. Graduating seniors assemble wearing cap and gown. In case of heavy rain, graduating seniors report directly to the First Baptist Church in America. |
3 p.m. |
Baccalaureate Service. The multi-faith ceremony will be video-broadcast on the College Green and in Salomon Center and Sayles Hall. |

Immediately Following |
Diploma Ceremonies at assigned locations as listed in the Commencement program. Most following ceremonies, depending on the number of graduates in the department, will end no later than 4 p.m. Families are strongly encouraged to meet at the location of their diploma ceremony and not to try and locate each other on the Main Green at the conclusion of the University ceremony. |

Storm Plan: In the event of severe storm conditions, the storm plan will go into effect. The Commencement procession will be cancelled, and the University Ceremony will be moved indoors and begin at 12:00 pm. Undergraduates should report directly to the Pizzitola Sports Center by 11:45 am. Parents and guests of undergraduates should go to Salomon Center (simulcast), Sayles Hall (simulcast) or Meehan Auditorium (simulcast) for a Broadcast of the University Ceremony. Diploma ceremonies will be held in the assigned locations immediately following the College ceremony. Should graduating students decide to pass through the Van Wickle gates, they will remain open until 6:00 pm on Monday. Please note that the information for the Graduate School and the Medical School is listed on their respective links. If the storm plan is in effect, it will be announced on the Brown University home page (www.brown.edu), a yellow pennant will be flown on the College Green flagpole and a message will be left at 401 863-2474. |
