Parking

In addition to the streets around the Brown campus, you may park your car in any of the University lots anytime beginning 5 p.m. Friday through the weekend. The two lots with the most spaces available on campus are the Erickson complex, corner of Hope Street and Lloyd Avenue; and the Power Street lot (both lower and upper levels) at the corner of Power and Thayer streets. The top level is entered on Power Street and the bottom level is entered on the corner of Williams and Brook streets. In addition, there will be overflow parking at Hope High School, 324 Hope Street. The University’s SafeRide shuttle will serve all three lots (see schedule and map under “SafeRide shuttle” below).

There are two handicapped designated lots at Brown. They are reserved for visitors who contacted the University prior to the weekend and obtained a handicapped parking permit. Please remember to lock your car, whether it is on the street or in a lot. Even though hourly restrictions are waived for Reunion Weekend, do observe city parking laws; any cars parked in a temporary tow zone, in marked handicapped spaces without a placard, in violation of a fire hydrant, blocking driveways, or obstructing Brown Police or Providence Police sawhorses will be towed at owner’s expense.

Please note: Parking is prohibited on George Street from Prospect Street to Brown Street, Brown Street from George Street to Benevolent Street, and on Waterman Street from Prospect Street to Thayer Street. Also, there is no parking on Providence city streets 1-5 a.m.

SafeRIDE Shuttle

If you have arrived by car and are parking on campus or in the overflow lot at Hope High School, the University has added continuous safeRIDE shuttle service throughout the weekend to ease your travel on campus. For your convenience, the shuttles will travel continuously along the route indicated on the Shuttle Map. During the weekend, use the shuttle service for a ride back to your car or even to your event on the other side of campus.
