HTML Editors

An HTML editor is software that writes HTML for you, based on choices you make through mouse-clicks and menu buttons. Many editors exist, however Brown makes two available to you, free of charge. Netscape Composer and Macromedia Dreamweaver are your choices.

Composer is available to anyone who has a Netscape browser. To put Netscape in editor mode, open the browser, and on the menu bar, select Communicator then Composer. You can build a simple website using Composer.

Dreamweaver is the editor you will want to use to build more complex web sites. Dreamweaver is available for download through the Applications Server and Software Services. CIS offers many levels of training for Dreamweaver
