Chelsey C. Remington, a 1961 graduate of Brown University, has been elected national chair of the Brown Annual Fund.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Chelsey C. Remington, a 1961 graduate of Brown University, was elected national chair of the Brown Annual Fund on Monday, June 1, at a meeting in Providence. Remington will begin her two-year term July 1, 1998.

She will preside over the Brown Annual Fund Executive Committee, the principal leadership organization of the Brown Annual Fund. These alumni and parent volunteers raise money each year in support of Brown's faculty, students and institutional mission. The Brown Annual Fund provides a significant component of the University's budget, approximately $10 million this year.

Remington, vice chair of the executive committee for the last three years, has been a member of the Brown Alumni Association Board of Governors and was part of the alumni leadership for the Class of 1961's 25th, 30th and 35th reunions. She has received three awards for service to the University: the Outstanding Service Award (1987), the Alumni Service Award (1991), and the H. Anthony Ittleson Award for outstanding service to the Brown Annual Fund (1998).

Following her graduation from Brown, Remington worked as a systems engineer at IBM for eight years. She is now an overseer and patron special event chair at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, serves on the Board of Directors of Concord Family Service, and is a corporator and trustee emeritus of the Fruitlands Museum in Harvard, Mass.
