New York Times columnist Frank Rich will present a President's Lecture Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 6:30 p.m. in Salomon Center, room 101.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- New York Times columnist Frank Rich will present a lecture at Brown University Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 6:30 p.m. "A Conversation with Frank Rich," which is a part of the President's Lecture Series, will be held in room 101 of the Salomon Center for Teaching. The event is free and open to the public.
Rich was named a columnist on the op-ed page of the Times in September 1993, after having served as its chief drama critic since 1980, the year he joined the Times. His column appears twice a week and is a commentary on American society and culture, drawing from his background as a theater critic and observer of art, entertainment and politics.
Rich also has written about culture and politics for many other publications. He is the author of two books: Hot Seat: Theater Criticism for The New York Times, 1980-1993 was published this past October. The Theatre Art of Boris Aronson, co-written with Lisa Aronson, was published in 1987.
