Brown University to hold 12th annual college fair Thursday, July 10

Brown University’s Pre-College Summer Program will present its 12th annual college fair Thursday, July 10, 2003, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Free and open to the public, the event is the largest summer college fair in New England and draws more than 100 colleges and 1,000 aspiring college students to campus each year.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — For the twelfth year, Brown University will host its annual summer college fair. Free and open to the public, this year’s event occurs on Thursday, July 10, 2003, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. in Sayles Hall, the Salomon Center for Teaching, and Faunce House, all located on the College Green.

Sponsored by the Office of Summer Studies’ Pre-College Summer@Brown, the event is the largest of its kind during the summer in New England. Typically, more than 1,000 high school students attend the event to ask questions and learn more about colleges of interest to them.

This year more than 140 colleges are confirmed. The diverse list of public and private colleges and universities includes fine arts, technology-focused, liberal-arts, military and major research institutions, as well as members of the Ivy League.

Brown’s Pre-College Summer@Brown, which includes both credit and non-credit summer classes for high school students, extends the University’s focus on active, student-centered learning to secondary school students and draws a dynamic group of students from the United States and abroad.
