A message to students
Our thoughts are with the campus community of Virginia Tech
In the wake of today’s shootings at Virginia Tech, the Office of Campus Life and Student Services has sent the following message to all students on the Brown University campus. | |||

April 16, 2007 Dear Brown Students, As you are likely aware from media reports, at least thirty-three individuals were killed today in a shooting on the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg, Virginia. Our thoughts are with the students, faculty and staff of Virginia Tech as they deal with this tragedy. We are writing with an offer of support and an opportunity for the community to gather in response to the shootings earlier today on the campus of Virginia Tech University. Later this evening, Monday, April 16, at 9:30 p.m., in Manning Chapel, the Office of the Chaplains and Religious Life will sponsor a gathering for community members to express support and condolences for the victims and their families. Representatives of the Office of Student Life will also be in attendance. Numerous resources and offices are available to provide support to students with concerns, questions or feelings raised by these events and for students with family or friends at Virginia Tech University or in the surrounding community. These include the following offices which will be open and available to students during normal business hours all of this week: Psychological Services: 863-3476

Office of the Chaplains: 863-2344
In addition, an administrator on call or a chaplain can be reached 24 hours a day through Public Safety at 863-3322.
