In a Stephen A. Ogden Jr. ’60 Memorial Lecture on International Affairs, former Senator Lincoln Chafee criticized President George W. Bush's handling of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, saying the president was bowing to a faction of evangelical Christians who oppose a Palestinian state.

Suskind said many colleges that rely on SAT scores and AP credits fail to enroll talented but underprivileged students from “war zone” urban environments. Though Jennings graduated from Brown as a 3.3 GPA double major, he wouldn’t have had a chance if Brown had only relied on his incoming SAT score of 910 as a basis for admitting him.
