The Champlain Foundations has distributed nearly $20 million in grants this year to nonprofit organizations across the state and elsewhere. Brown University received $659,200, with most of it, $550,000, supporting the Champlin Scholars program, which guarantees that any graduate of a Rhode Island public high school who is accepted to Brown as an undergraduate or medical student will get the necessary financial aid to attend.
