Brown won its second consecutive spring scrimmage in an entertaining see-saw of a match
which was not decided until the last five minutes as Brown pulled away with two late tries. As
was the case a week ago, there were no posts as the game was played on the artificial turf behind
the OMAC. The match was played for a full 80 minutes.

Brown began the match on a high note with lots of sequences, no lost possession and a score by
#8 Brent Zajaczkowski'12. However, after each of the first three tries scored, Brown followed
with either a series of mistakes or a let down, allowing New London to even the score. To be
fair, New London, which has qualified for the Division 3 Men's Division National Tournament
had some talent and size and was a challenging opponent.

As with the Bentley match, the team needs to continue to improve its effectiveness in contact and
timing in the backline, but there were some notable performances from prop Everett Epstein'12,
lock Landon Turley'12, Zajaczkowski, scrum half Matt Leonard'14, wing James McGinn'12 and
fullback Manny Koelliker'14. As well, three new props all got some playing time and improved
throughout the match: Dave Sheinfeld'15, Joseph Daou'14 and Kavin Nunez'15.

Leonard's 50 meter run from the base of a scrum for a try in the first half was equaled early in
the second half as McGinn slithered out of several tackles from 40 meters out. McGinn scored
six minutes later but the try was set up by a great pass from Turley. Zajaczkowski took a scrum
pick up and powered over the line to put the match out of New London's reach but there was one

more try to come. Epstein executed a terrific interception that was moved wide to center Dow
Travers'12 who fed wing Dan Tonderys'14 for the final points of the match.
