Bears Win 2019 College Sailing/Sperry Women's National Championship, Ragna Agerup is Quantum Women's Sailor of the Year, Three Women Earn All-American Team Honors

The Brown Bears won the 2019 College Sailing/Sperry Women's National Championship, May 23-24, in Newport, RI! A perfect week for the team which started with the Bears winning the Women's National Semifinals May 21-22, The women carried that momentum into the National Championship, which proved to be a mainly windy event. The Bears won by 15 points over Harvard with Yale in third. Ragna Agerup '20, Maddy McGrath '22, Maxine de Havenon '19, and Emma Montgomery '22 won A-division in convincing fashion and Hannah Steadman '20, Sophie Hibben '19, Annabelle Hutchinson '21, Emma Montgomery '22, and Maxine de Havenon '19 all combining to finish second in B-division. Emily Ito '19, Megha Malpani '19, Abigayle Konys '19, and Rachel Foster '20 were also part of the National Champion Women's team and all competed at the National Semifinals.

After racing the 2018-2019 College Sailing All-American Women's Team was announced and the Bears were well represented. Congrats to Sophie Hibben on being named an Honorable-Mention All-American and to Ragna Agerup and Hannah Steadman on being named All-Americans. Ragna Agerup was also named the College Sailing/Quantum Sails Women's Sailor of the Year after an incredible year including winning A-division at both the Women's National Semifinals and National Championship.
