CPAD 2018 - Participant Information
Welcome to the CPAD Instrumentation Frontier Workshop 2018. Here is some useful information:
Registration
Please stop by the registration desk on the 5th floor of RICC to pick up your name batch and drink ticket for the reception.
Talks and Posters
Speakers should upload their talks to Indico by 5pm the day before their presentation. We will download the slides from Indico to a local computer for display. Changes after 5pm should be kept to an absolute minimum. If for any reason you do update your talk after 5pm the day before your presentation let us know please by sending email to [email protected] so we can try to update the local file.
Instructions for uploading talks:
1. Login to Indico
2. Click on Timetable
3. If you know your session, click on that session. If you don't know your session, click on Detailed View and click on All Days
4. Find your talk title and click on it. A page will come up. Next to Files is a pencil icon. Click on it and you'll be prompted for adding material.
5. If you used Detailed View, after clicking on your title you will need to click on View Details. Then you'll get the page with Files and pencil icon.
Poster presenters should contact the registration desk on Sunday morning about setting up the posters.
Wifi
Basic wireless internet access at 256 kbps is available for free at the conference center in 30-minute periods. There is no limit to the number of 30 minute sessions per user. Enhanced internet at 1.5 Mbps is available for $9.99 per 4 hour period.
Refreshments
On each day, we will serve continental breakfast at 7:30 am, a midmorning coffee break with light snacks, lunch, and an afternoon coffee break with light snacks.
Reception
On Sunday at 6pm, we invite you to a reception with drinks and hors d'oevres at the RICC. As a registered particpant you will receive one drink ticket with your name badge for a free drink of your choice. Additional soft drinks will be free, additional alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase.
Banquet
On Monday 7-9:30pm, the conference banquet will take place at Alumnae Hall on the campus of Brown University at 194 Meeting St, Providence, RI 02912. Busses will pick you up at the RICC starting at 6:30pm and they will take you back to the downtown hotels or the RICC at 9:30pm. Please wear your name badge to get access to the banquet hall.
Parking
If you are staying in one of the downtown hotels you can easily walk to the RICC and we advise against renting a car. In case you do arrive by car, the RICC has a parking garage with entrance from West Exchange Street. Parking rates can be found here. Alternatively you can park at the Providence Place Mall. Parking there is free for the first 5 hours. After that rates increase. Park in the South or Citiside Garage and follow signs for the OMNI hotel to access the RICC.
