LINK TO OLD EXAMS

The final examinations from the last several years are available here on the web site, and while the general format of this year's exam will be quite similar, our plan is to integrate the Cardiac Physiology, Pathophysiology, Cardiac Pathology and Cardiac Pharmacology exams into a single exam. The Pathophysiology questions on this exam will be constructed of multiple choice, single best answer questions and may include questions derived from any of the following sources:

    1) Lectures
    2) Handouts
    3) Assigned reading material
    4) Printed learning objectives for each case discussed in small group
    5) The textbook "999 Cardiac Pathophysiology Questions Guaranteed to Trick Even Your Best Students", by D. Burtt, M.D. (available at the bookstore for the low, low price of $79.99, paperback).

The Pathophysiology portion of the exam grade will be derived from the Pathophysiology related questions only. This score will then be integrated with the small group grade and the comments from the small-group facilitators to determine a final grade for the Cardiac Pathophysiology Section.

PLEASE REMEMBER...........the goal of the exam is not to intimidate, exasperate or frustrate. It is simply to test your knowledge of the basic material covered during the course in a non-threatening, straight-forward manner, and, secondarily, to reinforce what we feel is the most essential material covered in the course. Sometimes, exams can even be learning experiences! J

We will try to make the questions as self-explanatory as possible, and preceptors will be available throughout the exam to answer questions regarding any confusing issues.

            Remember....don't be sad....
