Internships

City of Providence Internships and Fellowships
The City of Providence has several internships available in a number of city departments; students may choose to work during summer, school semesters, or year-round. These positions are unpaid, volunteer opportunities.

The City of Providence also offers several full-time, 10-week summer fellowships. Students work in city departments ranging from Policy and Communications to Neighborhood Services and Planning. Fellows receive a stipend at the end of summer as recognition of their hard work.

Institute for Humane Studies
The Institute, at the George Mason University, offers internship and fellowship programs to sophomores, juniors, and recent graduates. Some of these programs include housing and travel allowances and a stipend.

National Teaching Fellowship
The Citizen Schools National Teaching Fellowship, an AmeriCorps program, is a paid, two-year leadership development program. The Fellowship is designed for recent college graduates and mid-career professionals seeking to transform the out-of-school time education field into a true partner with education reform initiatives nationally.
