About the Artist :
Roberto Innocenti was born in Bagno a Ripoli (Firenze) in 1940. As a self-taught artist, he has worked in art galleries, in advertising agencies and today he is devoted to illustration. He works in many international publishing houses. He has worked since the 1960s as a graphic and animation designer and, since 1970, as a book illustrator. He has illustrated books by E.T.A. Hoffmann, Charles Perrault, Charles Dickens, Oscar Wilde, Carlo Collodi, and Christophe Gallaz, and many other authors. His numerous awards and prizes for book illustration include the Golden Apple at the Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava (BIB) and the Silver Medal of the Society of Illustrators in New York City. Books that he has illustrated have been published in France, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Holland, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Italy, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Canada, Taiwan, Japan, and the US
