Abstract: Examines Dante's use of Virgil Georgics 2 in the final cantos of Purgatorio. Specifically, Shoaf delineates Dante's techniques in the re-writing, and in the preserving of Virgil's original text as he corrects it to the Christian demand of the Divine Comedy.
