ian: Short and sweet. Only thing I might add is that is its persistence over more than a millennium in structuring the urban plan of the city a symbol of some level of continuity despite the other changes to Alexandria in other realms.

Sabrina Ergun: The principle boulevard running through the length of Alexandria. It ran the length of the city from Necropolis to the Gate of the Moon. It not only unified Alexandria’s urban design, but it also served as a location for many ceremonies and civic rituals, such as processions and military parades.
