bahamon: From our last class: This image is of the outskirts of Cairo. Specifically, it shows the restoration of the Ayyubid wall, which was made to link Cairo and Misr Fustat. Its construction marks the first time that the city had a big defensive structure (it was built during the time of the crusades). The greenery belongs to a park built outside of the Ayyubid wall and brings up the modern question of cultural heritage and restoration of the city.
