Note: this is a summary of the day's events. Full fieldnotes forthcoming!

We started excavating at 1pm and ended by 5:20pm. Dr. Nelson decided to close unit FCB B3, near the front door of the church and open another unit, FCB A4 in the rear yard instead. The reason is to explore more the instrument anomaly in the rear yard.

Excavation proceeeded well on all units. Most units are now on lot 2, and have been excavated down to 20cm below ground surface. Finds today include small pieces of ceramic, a probable coin (no date visible), some rusty metal nails, and glass pieces.

A small line of rocks is visible in the new unit, A4, and hopefully we will descend upon the wall of the anomaly, which could be a cistern, a latrine or oiltank. We will wait and see.
