Writing Assignment 2: The Monument

---

This is a research based paper on a selected monument from ancient Mesopotamian, Egypt, Greek or Roman worlds. Please select a monument from the list below (or you are welcome to come up with a similar one if you like) and write a short paper of 5-6 pages (not longer not shorter- double space, 12 font). While writing your paper, I would also like you to explore some of the concepts (at least 3) that are listed in the Glossary that is linked here. Glossary will work as a collaboratively written urban dictionary and you will be asked to contribute to at least 3 entries, and also focus on these concepts in your paper.

You are encouraged to look up these particular concepts such as style, iconography, narrative, representation, symbolism in the online Grove Dictionary art (see below for the link) and other library resources.

Along with your paper, please make sure to provide appropriate illustrations of your monument and a full bibliography.
