"Reflections:"
- Producing this video along with Chris Witmore expanded my understanding of the true potential for video as an interactive form. Filming on site at Patrick Dougherty's site specific sculpture made me pay close attention to the sounds of those sitting near by, the sounds of the city, and even how the noise of the wind records in the camera. Also with such work the editing process is very important. The first video was too long and did not flow with the actual movements of a human body through the sculpture. Returning to the site is the only way to understand how to make the video perpatetic. The next round of editing I was much more aware of the movement of a body through the sculpture. Recording the voice over also helped with that.
- I really enjoy working with this form of video. It is actually kind of addictive. For instance, while making a video for another class at the end of this term there was a huge theme of a body moving through space that I used to keep the story line moving. I hope that more filmmakers try out this medium for their own sake because it is something that can be applied to any subject matter.
