The Lakhmids were Christian Arabs of the Sasanian Empire that were centered in Hira, Iraq. It is a pre-Islamic bedouin society that helped Sasanian Iran not fall under rule of the Byzantine Empire. Despite being Christian, they were allied with Muslims in this struggle against the Byzantine Empire.
