Laila: Hadiths are the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). These sayings spread and was a factor for where people wanted to live and why they wanted to come to the cities - they wanted to be around the scholars of the hadith. This term is also important because it is essential to the emergence of Islamic law and practice.

Santiago: The Hadiths are narrations that describe the words and deeds of the Prophet Muhammad. They are used as a means of interpreting and understanding the Quran. They were gathered and collected in the 8th and 9th centuries.

ian: THey are related to the group known as the Sahaba and with their spread into the expanding Dar al-Islam so did these traditions. HEnce the development of itinerant scholarship for the "collecting" of these traditions.
