Roy Aaron, M.D.

Dr. Aaron did his undergraduate work at Lafayette College and received his M.D. at the State University of New York. He did his orthopedic residency at the Harvard Orthopedic Program and a fellowship in arthritis surgery at Robert Brigham Hospital. He completed two fellowships, one in surgical research and another in cartilage biochemistry at the National Institute of Health. His clinical interests are in arthritis surgery including joint replacement, arthroscopy, and foot and ankle reconstruction. He is involved in several active research programs including osteonecrosis of the femoral head and techniques for cartilage repair including the treatment of chondrogenic differentiation. Research programs in his group are funded by the National Institutes of Health and by the Whitaker Foundation. Dr. Aaron's clinical responsibilities include the management of the Basic Science Teaching Program at Rhode Island Hospital.
