W. Lloyd Barnard, M.D., an associate surgeon in the division of orthopaedics at The Miriam Hospital, specializes in the treatment of and surgery related to arthritis, dislocations and impingement syndromes of the shoulder.
Dr. Barnard also performs hip and knee replacements, but he primarily cares for and operates on shoulder pathologies. He treats "frozen shoulder", an affliction where the shoulder becomes stiff and the patient can not move without pain, arthritis, dislocations, joint problems, and impingement syndromes with rotator cuff tears.
