Mark Palumbo, M.D.
Spine Surgery
Mark A. Palumbo, M.D., is an attending orthopedic surgeon at Rhode Island Hospital. He is also an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at the Brown University School of Medicine.
Dr. Palumbo specializes in reconstructive and trauma surgery for the adult spine with special expertise in the operative treatment of cervical spine disorders. He performs a variety of surgical procedures on the neck and back that are directed at relieving compression of the neurologic structures. Dr. Palumbo often reconstructs parts of the spine to eliminate spinal column instability and deformity. His research interests include arthritis of the cervical spine, lumbar spinal stenosis and neck injuries in the athlete.
He is a candidate member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons, as well as a member of the American Medical Association and the Rhode Island Orthopedic Society.
