Consists of 32 sermons in Spanish and Quechua (“Parte primera” contains sermons 1-10; “Segunda parte”, without separate title page, contains sermons 11-32), with each Spanish paragraph followed by double columns of Quechua text. Spanish caption titles; excerpts from Scripture in Latin; additional Biblical references noted in margins; manuscript notations in pencil. JCB copy has vol. 1-2 bound together, with extensive index in Spanish (leaves 95-110 [i.e. 101] of “Segunda parte”) bound between leaves [5] (first count) and 1 (2nd count) of “Parte primera”. Medina suggests that there may have been a “Tercera parte”; Vargas Ugarte believes that Avendaño’s Sermones de los misterios was published together with: Catholic Church. Archdiocese of Lima (Peru).
