Notes: First part (p. 1-72) lists over 1500 entries in Spanish with Nahuatl equivalents; second part (p. 73-118) lists approximately 1000 Nahuatl entries with Spanish equivalents. In both parts, entries, which include numerous conversational phrases as well as single terms, are grouped in thematic categories, with the two languages printed in double columns. Like the 1668, 1690, and 1710 editions, this edition omits 17 of 70 sections contained in part 1 of the first edition, published Mexico, 1611, and 2 of 42 sections contained in part 2 of first edition. Contains table of contents for each part. JCB has 2 copies that are variant editions (Garcia Icazbalceta mentions 2 distinct editions of 1683). These have the same imprint and are typographically similar. In JCB copy 1 some signatures trimmed closely with loss of signature marks and text; JCB copy 2 imperfect, lacking preliminary leaves, with t.p. a substitute from another 1683 copy.
