A translation of author’s Doctrina christiana, con una exposicion breve, first published Burgos, 1591; translation into Zapotec language first published Mexico, 1687. “Parecer del muy Rdo. Padre Maestro Fray Nicolas de Andrade del Orden de Predicadores de la Provincia de San Hipolyto Martyr de Oaxaca” (p. [10-13]) mentions Father Ripalda as the author of the original work; Ugarte lists all editions under Father Pacheco de Silva and makes no mention of Father Ripalda as the author. JCB copy imperfect, lacking t.p. and leaf [8], first count; climate damage with some loss of text.
