Notes: An account of the earliest Swedish settlement in America compiled from manuscripts left by the author's grandfather and by Peter Lindstrom, an engineer and cartographer in the colony, and from oral sources. Book IV, p. [153]-172, is a "En orde-och samtals-bok, på de-Americaners språk wid Nya Swerige, eller som det nu kallas Pensylvania", and includes glossaries of words and phrases relating to religion, parts of the body, clothing, weather, animals and plants, numbers, and useful conversational phrases in the Delaware language. Also contains "Om en sammankomst och herredag som de barbarer åhr 1645. has=fiva hållit öfwer the Swenksa i Nya Swerige, hwar uti deras sackheman eller konung först talar med fin son, om menighetens tilhopa kallande" on p. 173-179. Addenda, p. [180]-190, includes "Om de Myncqueser eller Mynckussar och theras språk" on p. [180]-174 [i.e. 184] and gives a sizeable vocabulary of words and phrases and numerals in the Iroquois language. "Om någre mårkwårdige och fållsamme ting uti America": p. 185-190.
