Notes: Chapter VI, “An account of the language of the inhabitants of these countries” (p. [132]-144), deals with the language of the Moluches, and includes grammatical “observations, rules, examples, &c.” regarding nouns, pronouns, adverbs, and (primarily) verbs; vocabulary is included passim as well as in a list of over eighty terms with English equivalents. Also given are four specimens with parallel English translation: The sign of the cross, The beginning of the Lord's Prayer, The beginning of the Creed, & The beginning of the Doctrines. Included are a handful of comparisons with the language of the Huilliches. JCB has 2 copies. Preface (p. [1]-23) written by Robert Berkeley.
