Notes: Chapter 6, "Von der Sprache der Einwohner dieser Länder" (p. 163-181), deals with the language of the “Moluchische,” and includes “Grammaticalische Beobachtungen, Regeln, Beyspiele &c.” regarding nouns, pronouns, adverbs, and (primarily) verbs; vocabulary is included passim as well as in a list of over eighty terms with German equivalents. Also given are four specimens with parallel German translation: The sign of the cross, The beginning of the Lord's Prayer, The beginning of the Creed, & The beginning of the Doctrines. Included are a handful of comparisons with the language of the Huilliches. Translation, by Schack Hermann Ewald, from author's A description of Patagonia, and the adjoining parts of South America, Hereford and London, 1774.
