Notes: “Specimen of the Aleutian Language" (Appendix I, No. X, p. 303) lists a dozen nouns and the numerals 1-10 with Aleutian and English in parallel columns, followed by this note: “It is very remarkable, that none of these words bear the least resemblance to those of the same signification, which are found in the different dialects spoken by the Koriaks, Kamtchadals, and the inhabitants of the Kuril Islands”.
