Notes: Chapter XXXIII, “Essai sur leur langage” (v. 2: p. 116-135), deals with the language of the Moluches, and includes grammatical observations, rules, and examples regarding nouns, pronouns, adverbs, and (primarily) verbs; vocabulary is included passim as well as in a list of over eighty terms with French equivalents. Also given are four specimens with parallel French translation: The sign of the cross, The beginning of the Lord's Prayer, The beginning of the Creed, & The beginning of the Doctrines. Included are a handful of comparisons with the language of the Huilliches. Author’s name from Barbier. Translation, by Marc Théodore Bourrit, of: A description of Patagonia, and the adjoining parts of South America, Hereford and London, 1774. A new issue, differing only in the presence of half titles and conjugate new title pages.
