Notes: The author gives an account of Nicolas Durand de Villegagnon's colony in Brazil and the Tupi Indians who inhabited the country.

Brasilianisch und Deutsch", p. 331-360, contains numerous phrases in the Tupi language translated into the German language, a discussion of grammar with examples, and a comparative glossary of words in Tupi and German. There are also numerous words and phrases in the Tupi language scattered throughout the text.
Includes musical notations with words in the Tupi language on p. 203, 276, and 280-281.
