Notes: Contains brief remarks on semantics, grammar, and phonetics of languages spoken in the Sandwich Islands, in Port des Français, and In Northern California around Monterey/Mission of San Carlos (“country of the Achastliens and the Ecclemachs”), as well as numerals and other vocabulary samples with English equivalents. Included are half a dozen Sandwich Islands terms, comparing versions recorded by Cook and by G. Dixon (v.1, p. 343); excerpts from de Lamanon’s study of languages spoken in Port des Français (v.1, p. 409-411, including numerals 1-100, preceded by musical notation for a vocal melody); and excerpts from de Lamanon’s observations on Achastlien (v.1, p. 466-468, including numerals 1-10) and Ecclemach (v.1, p. 468-469, including numerals 1-10 and a dozen nouns); and “Vocabulary of the inhabitants of Tchoka, formed at Baie de Langle”, with English equivalents and/or ethnographic glosses for over 150 terms (body parts, artefacts and natural objects, and numerals 1-100) in the language spoken on or near the Kuril Islands [Chukchi?] and Tchoka or Kamchatka (v.2, p. 80-85). “... an abridged translation into English.
