Notes: The author gives an account of Nicolas Durand de Villegagnon's colony in Brazil and the Tupi Indians who inhabited the country. "Colloque de l'entree ou arriuee en la terre du Bresil entre les gens du pays nommez Tououpinambaoults, & Toupinnkin en langage sauuage & François", p. 306-338, contains numerous phrases in the Tupi language translated into the French language, a discussion of grammar with examples, and a comparative glossary of words in Tupi and French. There are also numerous words and phrases in the Tupi language scattered throughout the text. First printed in La Rochelle, 1578.
