Notes: Ms. codex. Manuscript transcription (nineteenth century) of one section of the author’s Arte, y gramatica general de la lengua que corre en todo lo reyno de Chile, con un vocabulario, y confessionario, Lima, 1606 [Medina (Lima) 29]. Copied in a single hand in black ink from the special title page in that volume for the Confessionario through the end of that section and the Errata, presented here on leaf 35. In general, Araucanian text is lettered in upright roman, with Spanish translation lettered in italic. Errors in transcription suggest a copyist without knowledge of Spanish or early typesetting conventions. Seller’s bookplate for Maisonneuve et Cie. Editeurs “a la tour de Babel” pasted inside front cover. Con Licencia en Lima por Francisco del Canto Año M.DC.VI [i.e. 19th century] [sic].
