Notes: The author gives an account of Nicolas Durand de Villegagnon's colony in Brazil and the Tupi Indians who inhabited the country. "Colloquium in ipso aditu Brasiliensis orae inter indigenas Tououpinambaultios Tououpinenkin Brasilicè ac Latinè conscriptum", p. 271-297, contains numerous phrases in the Tupi language translated into the Latin language, a discussion of grammar with examples, and a comparative glossary of words in Tupi and Latin. There are also numerous words and phrases in the Tupi language scattered throughout the text. Includes musical notations with words in the Tupi language on p. 219-220. Translation, by Urbain Chauveton, of: Histoire d'un voyage fait en la terre du Bresil, autrement dite Amerique, first printed La Rochelle, 1578, but containing material suppressed there. Place of Publication suggested by Alden. Roman numeral date on title page made with reverse C's. Issued as part of: Historia Indiae Occidentalis tomis duobus comprehensa by Girolamo Benzoni, [Geneva]: Eustathius Vignon, 1586.
