Notes: This narrative poem on Chilean efforts to subdue Araucanian Indians includes a “Declaracion de algunas dudas que se pueden ofrecer en esta Obra” (leaves [1-4] at end), a glossary of approximately 2 dozen indigenous terms, including proper names.
This is the earliest edition of author's work to incorporate this glossary as well as all three parts of the poem. Part 1 was first published Madrid, 1569; part 2, 1578; and part 3 Madrid, 1589.
