Notes: Chapter 20, "Colloquium in ipso aditu Brasiliensis orae inter indigenas Tououpinambaultios Tououpinenkin Brasilicè ac Latinè conscriptum" (p. 271-297), contains a dialogue between the author and a native, giving each reply in both languages and incorporating extensive Latin glosses and notes on usage; following the dialogue proper are lists of body parts and possessive adjectives (p. 288-290), household terms (p. 290-291), kinship terms (p. 291-292), and verb tenses and moods (p. 292-295); and a catalogue of place names (p. 296-297). Scattered throughout are a number of native terms and phrases including brief songs or chants with musical notation (p. 128, p. 140 [2nd count], p. 214, p. 219-220, p. 247 [3rd count]).
