The successful candidate will serve as Chief of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service (P&LMS) at the Providence VA Medical Center. The successful candidate must qualify for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Associate/Full Professor in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. The incumbent will be expected to deliver quality and cost effective care, with duties and responsibilities of a clinical and/or anatomic pathologist, provide direction and support to P&LMS staff regarding equipment technology, policies and procedures employed by the Providence VAMC, ensure that all requirements of regulatory agencies such as the Joint Commission are met, review quality control and quality improvement procedures, maintain a peer review process for all P&LMS clinicians, demonstrate knowledge and management of the P&LMS. Strong background in basic and/or Clinical Research is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with current VA/extramural funding.
