The Rhode Island Hospital and The Miriam Hospital, major teaching hospitals of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, are seeking a thoracic oncologist to join the Department of Medicine. The successful candidate must qualify for a full-time medical faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor in the Department of Medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Minimum requirements include: board eligibility or certification in oncology strong clinical background in clinical and translational research, excellence in patient care and teaching, and a commitment to scholarly participation in the research programs of The Warren Alpert Medical School. Experience in translational research and protocol development including regulatory oversight is highly desirable. It is preferred that the candidate’s research focus on genomic research in thoracic oncology or a closely related field. Depending on the level of experience the successful recruit may be asked to serve as the medical oncology thoracic section director and the co-chairman of thoracic oncology of the Brown University Oncology Research Group. A highly accomplished physician may lead our main-member Alliance affiliation. Active participation in cooperative group, pharmaceutical industry and investigator-initiated clinical trials is required. Development of investigator initiated clinical studies will be required of senior clinical investigators. Candidates applying for the Associate Professor rank must have a national reputation in the field.
