Responsible Conduct in Research (RCR)

Division of Biology and Medicine Fall Training Sequence

The Fall RCR training sequence organized by the Associate Dean for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies is required for all entering PhD students in the Division of Biology and Medicine. Others, including postdoctoral researchers, masters students and junior faculty with career development grants are welcome to participate by making a request to Tracey_Cronin@brown.edu.

The Fall 2015 session will begin on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 and will run for 7 weeks on Tuesdays from 4pm - 6pm.  First year PhD students in BioMed are required to take this training and your registration is automatic.  For all others, please register your intent to enroll by sending an e-mail to Tracey_Cronin@Brown.edu no later than September 5, 2015.    The expected syllabus and room location will be posted as soon as possible. 

This training fulfills NIH required training in Responsible Conduct of Research.

RCR Refresher Training: The Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies offers refresher training for postdoctoral researchers and fourth-year predoctoral students in the Division of Biology and Medicine that satisfies the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Science Foundation (NSF) requirements for the Responsible Conduct of Research. The course comprises three in-person sessions lasting 1.5h each and is offered twice per academic year, once during the fall semester and once during the spring semester. To complete refresher training, trainees may attend all three sessions of a cycle or participate in two sessions and complete online Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) training.
