Kathryn Ridout, MD, PhD, selected for the 2017 Laughlin Fellowship awarded by the American College of Psychiatrists

Dr. Kathryn Ridout, PGY-4 resident in the Adult Psychiatry Residency Program, has been selected for the 2017 Laughlin Fellowship awarded by the American College of Psychiatrists. The Laughlin Fellows are chosen from an elite pool of applicants deemed likely to make a significant contribution to the field of psychiatry.

Dr. Ridout was recruited to the Brown University General Psychiatry Residency Program in 2013 and was selected to participate in the NIH R25 funded research track. She has been working in the lab of Audrey Tyrka, MD, PhD, pursuing her research interest in the biologic impact of childhood stress and trauma on the risk for psychiatric disorders. Dr. Ridout is the recipient of numerous national awards including the National Institute of Mental Health's Outstanding Resident Award.
