Apply to the China Initiative Collaboration Grant!
The China Initiative invites Brown University faculty and researchers to submit proposals to support projects and events aimed at expanding our understanding of Greater China. The China Initiative, housed at the Watson Institute for International Studies, seeks to foster academic activities that at once deepen our knowledge about Greater China (Mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong), and use that knowledge to challenge and expand our understanding of the wider world. Proposals will be welcomed from all parts of the university, including the social sciences and humanities, engineering, the sciences, public health, and medicine. Proposals may involve collaborations with partners in Greater China. The China Initiative is particularly interested in proposals that span multiple academic disciplines.
China Initiative Collaboration Grants are open to all Brown University faculty and members of the research staff.
Funds may be used to cover expenses related to meetings, seminar series, workshops, and exploratory research trips. Funds may not be used to cover salaries, honoraria, or materials.
Maximum Award Amount: $15,000.
See the Call for Proposals for details on the application process and deadlines.
Applications and inquiries should be addressed to Professor Edward S. Steinfeld Director of the China Initiative firstname.lastname@example.org
