In January 2017, eight Brown undergraduate students participated in a weeklong intercultural learning experience program held by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Titled “Exploring Through the Lens: City, Culture and Connectedness,” the program used photography as a means of exploring the city of Boston, the city’s history, and its people. Through lectures and tours of the city, students learnt new ways of seeing and appreciating their surroundings, building on a theme of cross-cultural understanding. The program finished with an installation exhibit at MIT’s International Design Center. The program was funded by the MIT-SUTD Collaboration.
