Office of Global Engagement

Brown MPA program expands ties with institutions abroad

March 19, 2018

Brown's Office of Global Engagement is dedicated to facilitating and solidifying international partnerships between the University and institutions abroad. We respond to the interests and needs of our faculty and students in order to provide access to multilateral collaborations and a variety globally-oriented activities.

The Office of Global Engagement has worked closely with Brown’s Master of Public Affairs program to partner with renowned institutions in order to bring together academics, practitioners, and students to discuss a diverse range of policy issues. The MPA program is distinguished not only by its rigourous, multidisciplinary core curriculum but also by its emphasis on global engagement. The accelerated program emphasizes a hands-on approach to public policy and includes a two-week Global Policy Experience (GPE) abroad where students engage with stakeholders in the policymaking process around the world. Currently, the MPA program has partnerships with the following institutions:

  • Edenbridge Asia is a consultancy firm based in Cambodia with expertise in several industries, including hospitality, manufacturing, agriculture, real estate, power and entertainment.

  • The Hertie School of Governance is a private university in Germany offering graduate and professional degrees in Public Policy and International Affairs, among others.

  • Fundação Dom Cabral, located in Minas Gerais, Brazil, ranks as one of the best business schools in the world and the #1 business school in Latin America.

  • Sungkyunkwan University is a global research university located in Seoul and Suwon, South Korea and has a strong reputation for international engagement efforts, including several dual-degree programs and study abroad programs.

Past international partnerships include institutions in Myanmar, Sweden, and India.
