It's Not Just a Week Anymore!

One week just wasn't enough to honor Brown staff for their excellent performance and continuing loyalty to the University! Make the entire month of February a bit more bearable by participating in these special offers, exhibits, programs, and tours:

Staff Art Exhibit: After Hours The Creative Arts Council is pleased to host After Hours: Annual Staff Appreciation Exhibit in the Granoff Center lower lobby at 154 Angell Street. Featuring the works of Brown University staff, the exhibition will be on display from January 19 through February 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. All are invited to attend the reception on February 11 at 5 p.m.
Alpert Medical School: Visual Arts Exhibit  View nearly 40 works by medical students and staff at the Alpert Medical School, 222 Richmond Street (second and third floors), 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. On display through March 31, you will see a stunning array of drawings, sculpture, painting, and photography created by Brown's aspiring physicians.

Men's Basketball Tickets Watch the Bears as they take on Princeton at 6 p.m. in the Pizzitola Memorial Sports Center. Before January 28, present your Brown ID at the Ticket Office in Pizzitola and receive up to 4 free tickets! The Ticket Office is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets will not be available on game day.

Tuesday, February 2

Professional Development: Can You Hear Me Now? In this workshop, you will learn about the five levels of listening, assess your current listening skills, and employ strategies necessary to become an active/empathic listener. Staff Lecture: You Better Belize It! Join Administrative Coordinator Brittany Kosiba to hear all about her incredible and rewarding experiences serving in orphanages, delivering food to families, and building a legacy of love in the gorgeous country of Belize. Staff Lecture: Leadership Through Rest & Disconnecting When was the last time you (or your kids) looked at the stars? Do you know when the trees near your office start to bloom? How do you describe a "day off"? Program Manager Lauren Watka from the School of Professional Studies shares her experience establishing disciplines of disconnection to better teach her students, mentor her staff, maintain sanity, and delight in the natural world. Staff Lecture: Angels Do Exist Join Maren Nelson, Maddock Alumni Center coordinator, and learn about her fascinating walk across Spain in the path of St. James the Apostle.
