The HR Service Center (HRSC) offers select human resources services, such as I-9 form processing, assistance with onboarding, foreign national processing, and guidance with employee self-service Workday functions are offered to the Brown community.

Brown ID Card

The Brown Card is the official Brown University identification card that provides building access, print and copy services, transportation, and more.

Brown Shuttle

The Brown University Shuttle is a safety-oriented transportation service offered to the Brown community — students, faculty, and staff of Brown and hospital affiliates who have a Brown ID. Download the TansLoc Mobile App for live tracking of the shuttles.

Express Route - Providing expedited service between College Hill and the Jewelry District, the route has a total of 8 stops starting at Hillel (corner of Brown and Angell Streets) and runs along Eddy/Dyer Streets and terminates at South Street Landing before returning to College Hill.  The route runs on approximately 10-minute intervals and is serviced by two shuttles equipped with front mounted bicycle racks, vehicle graphics, and front designation signs.

Connector Route - Connecting College Hill, the Jewelry District, and the hospitals, the route has a total of 22 stops running in both directions between Power/Brook Streets along Brook St (Fox Point neighborhood), South Street Landing and the Alpert Medical School with a loop on one end servicing the hospital and Coro Building and on the other end servicing multiple locations on College Hill including the Athletic Center and Pembroke Campus.  The route runs on approximately 20-minute intervals and is serviced by two shuttles equipped with front mounted bicycle racks, vehicle graphics, and front designation signs.

Brown University will cover the cost of reasonable moving expenses associated with moving household and personal effects for eligible Newly Hired faculty and staff. 

Moving Expenses Policy

Please note that staff and faculty to whom the policy applies with a job start date between March 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020 are entitled to the benefits described in the policy until December 31, 2021 (i.e., have until December 31, 2021 to complete their move).
